Both are dreamy. Both are photogenic. But the Amalfi Coast and Provence offer very different weddings. Here's how to choose.

The scenery

The Amalfi Coast is drama — vertiginous cliffs, lemon groves and the blue sweep of the Tyrrhenian Sea from towns like Ravello and Positano. Provence is softer — rolling lavender fields, vineyards, plane-tree squares and honey-coloured stone. Coastal glamour versus pastoral romance.

The style of wedding

Amalfi suits couples who want a sense of occasion: terraces, sea views, a touch of Italian opulence. Provence leans relaxed and rustic-chic — long tables under the trees, local rosé, an unhurried multi-day feel. Browse Amalfi venues and Provence venues to feel the difference.

Budget & logistics

The Amalfi Coast is generally the pricier and more logistically complex of the two — narrow roads, cliffside access and high-season demand push costs up. Provence offers more exclusive-use châteaux and estates where guests can stay on site, which can simplify a larger celebration.

Getting there

Amalfi is served by Naples airport (around 1.5 hours by road). Provence is reached via Nice or Marseille, both well connected across Europe. Either way, build in buffer time — these are places to savour, not rush.

The verdict

Choose Amalfi for cinematic sea-view glamour; choose Provence for relaxed, all-together countryside celebrations. You can't go wrong — only differently right.
